Terms & advertising disclosure
The short version: this is one small desk's opinion, ads pay for it, ads don't buy it, and we don't work for Google.
Back to the games1. What this site is
RAGEQUIT RATINGS is an editorial site. We install free games from Google Play, play them, and write down what we thought. Everything on the games page — the paragraphs, the quit points, the choice of which seven appear at all — is opinion, formed by a small group of people in Halifax over a limited number of hours.
It isn't advice, and it isn't a test result. Your ninety minutes with the same game may go completely differently, which is rather the point of games.
2. Advertising disclosure
This is the section worth reading properly.
- The site is free. There is no subscription and no paywall.
- It is funded by advertising, in two forms. First, paid promotional placements for games, which link to Google Play. Second, advertising revenue connected with the free Play4Free games we recommend — games that are free to install and earn from the advertising built into them.
- Any placement that has been paid for is labelled as advertising next to the placement itself.
- Paid advertising does not buy a place on the shortlist, a star, a quit point or a sentence of a review. Editorial decisions are made before, and separately from, any commercial conversation.
- The star numbers we display are Google Play's own public averages, copied on the day of publication. We don't calculate them and we can't influence them.
- We accept no payment from a developer in exchange for coverage, and we don't accept press builds or early access.
If you ever find something on this site that looks like an ad but isn't marked as one, write to [email protected] and we'll fix it and say so.
3. We don't work for Google, or for them
RAGEQUIT RATINGS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Google LLC, Google Play, or any of the developers whose games appear here. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. We just link to the store like anybody else.
4. Who owns what's on the page
Game names, icons, screenshots and trademarks belong to their respective developers and publishers. They appear here for identification and commentary — ordinary editorial use — and we make no claim to them. Every image is the developer's own store frame, taken from the public Google Play listing and resized, not altered.
The writing, layout, typography and code of this site belong to RAGEQUIT RATINGS. Quote us with a link; don't republish the reviews wholesale.
If you're a developer and you'd like your material removed from this site, email the desk. We don't argue about it.
5. Links to Google Play
Links leave this site and land on Google Play, which has its own terms and its own privacy policy. What happens after you install — prices, in-app purchases, advertising inside the game, updates that change the game entirely — is between you, the developer and Google. Games change; a review is a photograph of one week.
6. No guarantees
The site is provided as it is. We try hard to be accurate: to name the right developer, to copy the rating correctly, to describe the game we actually played. We can't promise the site is error-free, always available, or up to date the day you read it — a game may have changed the week after we published.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from a game you installed because of it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Canadian law, including for fraud.
7. Corrections
If we got a fact wrong, tell us. Corrections are made in place, and the change is stated at the foot of the review rather than quietly swapped in. Opinions we'll defend; facts we'll fix.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Nova Scotia. If you're a consumer somewhere else in Canada, this doesn't take away rights your own province gives you.
9. Reaching a person
